VACANT

Treasurer
Lisa Shenk
Welcome! My name is Lisa Shenk, I'm an LPC in private practice in South Austin where I specialize in working with adults in transition due to unexpected change, as well as adults living with Bipolar. I believe strongly in the inner strength that lies within each of us that often needs the presence of a compassionate caring other to fully emerge. I'm excited to have the opportunity to serve as the Treasurer for the Capital of Texas Chapter of TCA and support the mission of community, education, and advocacy for our field in the community and with the state legislature regarding mental health policy. When I'm not working, I enjoy reading, dancing, hiking, and getting crafty with embroidery and cross-stitch. I also like to drive like a speed-demon, however I work to keep that in check (sometimes in my own therapy, which my friends and family appreciate).

I spent 4 years as a teacher, 2 years as a school counselor and 2 years as a district specialist. I now spend much of my time managing and training emergent clinicians within my practice Crave Counseling, volunteering with Hearts2Heal and supporting the CTCA board. I enjoy international travel, walking, learning new languages and cultures and most of all the sun.
